Visit to the Courteenhall Estate - 2nd October 2025

With the kind invitation of Dr Johnny Wake DL, Members of the Farmers' Company and WCF Alumni Association and guests were invited to the historic Courteenhall Estate for a bespoke tour and luncheon on Thursday, 2nd October 2025.

The tour commenced with a welcome from Johnny, a Freeman of the Company and WCFA Member (having completed the ABM in 2018 and was supported to complete the Cranfield Business Growth Programme in 2020), together with Rosie Davis, the Estate Manager & WCFA Member (CRL 2024).

Johnny has been shortlisted for Regenerative Farmer of the Year in this year's British Farming Awards; this recognition reflects Johnny's approach to land stewardship and his commitment to sustainable, regenerative farming practices that support biodiversity, soil health, and long-term resilience. The morning will then continued with a walking tour allowing us to see the arable, parkland, cattle, poultry, woodland, countryside stewardship and the renewables operation. A delicious two-course lunch was provided by a local caterer.
